Alright, so all of my characters have some family members and some other assorted cats from the past that I think it would be fun to see played! These families range from dysfunctional to ordinary, but there’s lots of room for developing characters either way.
I’ve left requirements loose, so that you, the possible roleplayer, can have some fun and be creative! I’m very interested to see odd quirks and fun personalities, especially for characters that don’t require them. If you do want to play an ordinary character, that’s fine, too.
I have my suggestions for all characters; they’re in italics. The bulleted points are the required parts, and I encourage you all to have fun!
Lightstar’s Family
Lightstar’s family is a step up from Charredback’s, but it’s still far from perfect. His parents are perfectly nice cats, thank you very much. It’s his brother, Webfur, who’s the crazy one. It would definitely be fun if somebody played him, as well as all of the other cats in Lightstar’s family, who have their own problems… whether you choose the ones I provide or choose your own to invent.
.x. The Proud Mother, Goldenheart
-ThunderClan, senior warrior or elder
-must be golden in some way (eyes, fur, markings, etc.)
-well-respected and loyal
-NOT in love with Blazeface, but respects him and feels affection for him
-excessively proud of Lightstar and deceased Eaglecry
Goldenheart is a ThunderClan elder who bears a striking resemblance to her leader son, Lightstar, if rather slighter. She is actually a very kind cat, sweet and lovable… except for the fact that she’s never romantically loved a cat her whole life long. Strange as it sounds, she never even had a crush. She was always waiting for a special someone, but eventually settled with Blazeface. She is obedient and a bit demure, but that’s never stopped her from being a hard worker when it comes to ThunderClan’s duties. She definitely deserves a peaceful retirement, but she has Webfur to deal with. She wants him to be a better cat, and wants to connect with him, but is actually a little afraid of him.
.x. The Respected Father, Blazeface
-ThunderClan, senior warrior or elder
-must be a fiery color OR have amber eyes OR have a white blaze on his forehead OR a combination of those
-well-respected and loyal
-NOT in love with Goldenheart, though is affectionate towards her
-extremely proud of Lightstar and deceased Eaglecry
-ashamed of Webfur
Blazeface is a stocky, well-built tom, looking like he should still be a warrior despite the fact he’s retired. He is black-and-white, with golden eyes and a white blaze up his forehead. He’s a very demanding cat, but nobody would ever question his loyalty. He is hard-working, though some may say he’s work-obsessed. He still tries to get out and do warrior work, despite failing hearing and reflexes. He rewards good behavior generously, and punishes bad behavior, as he always has; his kits can attest to this. His greatest punishment for Webfur is rejecting him as a son and refusing to acknowledge they share blood. He can be very uptight and harsh, as well as boastful, but he can also be remarkably affectionate and jovial.
.x. The Jealous Brother, Webfur
-ThunderClan, same age as Lightstar
-a tabby
-not exceptionally talented
-envious and bitter
-reclusive
-jealous of Lightstar since they were apprentices
-had attacked Lightstar, giving him the wound on the back of his neck
-was not banished from ThunderClan because of Lightstar's generosity, but has remained unpopular
-whether or not Lightstar's kindness has caused Webfur to have a change of heart is up to the roleplayer
Webfur is a small, ungainly tabby tom, not unlike Lightstar in coloration. He’s not as handsome, not as talented, not as charismatic, not as popular… How can anybody really blame him for being jealous? That incident where he attacked Lightstar, how can you blame him in his bitterness? He is really bitter, to everyone and everything. He feels Lightstar only allowed him to stay in the Clan because he was trying to increase his own popularity. In Webfur’s opinion, his brother is certainly not as wonderful as everyone thinks. Webfur would like to show everybody some of Lightstar’s bad traits. The reason for this is because Webfur wants others to like him, but has absolutely no idea how to do this, so he is trying underhanded techniques. He is actually quite smart, but not socially.
.x. The First Apprentice, Skyflower
-ThunderClan
-cooperative and loves to learn
-easy to get along with
-well-liked by everyone
A young and pretty blue-gray she-cat, Skyflower is the very image of the ideal youth of ThunderClan. She is sweet as a sugar cube, and reaches out to anybody in need. It is easy to take advantage of her generosity, because while she learns techniques in hunting and fighting very easily, she is more than a little naïve in other areas. She would try to make friends with a dog if it talked to her. She has a lot of crushes on tomcats, especially on Lightstar, who was her mentor. She has also taken a rather unhealthy interest in Webfur.
Taken by BRIGHTTAIL.
.x. The Adoptive Son, Flightwing
-ThunderClan
-quiet, antisocial, difficult to get along with
-can be very bitter
-sees Lightstar as a father figure, though Lightstar was only his mentor, and if very loyal to him
-lost most of his family shortly before becoming an apprentice
Flightwing is a young, long-haired tabby tom with tufts of hair coming out of his ears that look almost like wings. He can get very sorry for himself at times, and that leads to periods of self-loathing. He misses his parents and siblings unbearably, since they died in a tragic accident when the kits were for an outing and the family was attacked by a pair of foxes. Flightwing survived because he was in the medicine cat’s den at the time with a fever. Since Lightstar, his mentor, basically adopted him as a son, he’s begun to be a little less bitter, and tries to be a better cat. He even tries to make friends sometimes, with Lightstar’s encouragement. Because Lightstar stuck with him loyally, Flightwing will always be loyal to Lightstar and to ThunderClan.

Boulderfoot’s Family
There’s only one remaining member of Boulderfoot’s family.
.x. The Last Living Brother, Badgerclaw
-ThunderClan, same age as Boulderfoot
-should be large and flat-faced
-was a bully as a kit
-up to the roleplayer whether or not he has remained a bully
-smarter than Boulderfoot and more emotional
-good terms with Boulderfoot
Like his other brothers, Badgerclaw is a massive, flat-faced tom, looking like an Exotic Shorthair in appearance and with black-and-white fur. As a kit, he found it was easy to use his larger size and considerable intelligence to bully the smaller, weaker youths into doing whatever he pleased. As an adult, he continued doing so, though he is no overt bully. As might be inferred, this is a crafty tom, and he uses his wit as well as his brawn to get his way. Of course, things must always be HIS way. He isn’t the kind of cat who likes to compromise. He is resentful, for he feels like he has never been rewarded for being so smart and strong, though exactly what reward he expects, even he isn’t certain. Still, he manages to remain on good terms with most cats, despite his more negative traits, and has a remarkable propensity for loyalty and goodwill towards his own Clan.
Mottledleaf's Family
Mottledleaf's family isn't so much a family, either... Actually, her living relations consist only of her sister, Sleekfur.
.x. The Romantic Sister, Sleekfur
-RiverClan, same age as Mottledleaf
-extremely pretty, at least as much so as Mottledleaf
-romantic, a bit of a dreamer
-believes in true love
-wants to fall in love with a tom and plans to be loyal and devoted
-has trouble talking to toms, though
-an excellent, highly skillful warrior
-used to be close to Mottledleaf, but they grew distant while they were apprentices
Sleekfur's got looks to rival even her beautiful sister's, for she has a sleek white coat and bright, well-formed eyes. Aside from being beautiful, Sleekfur does not have much in common with Mottledleaf, and strongly frowns upon her sister's undevoted involvement with toms. Sleekfur has high moral standards, especially when it comes to romance, and is disgusted by the easy way her sister floats from tom to tom. Still, she is a loving, gentle cat, and will not argue unless you stand against everything she is devoted to, mainly romance. She can be a little awkward, especially around males, and has trouble making herself understood. Likewise, she isn't great at understanding other cats when they don't speak plainly. Still, she is a very likeable cat.
Rowanheart’s Family
This is the perfectly ordinary family I promised you all. They’re supportive, they’re nice, they’re close, and they’re all quite lovey-dovey. The thing is, it would be awesome if they were all kooky and quirky, too, because aren’t crazy, awesome families the best kind?
.x. The Supportive Mother, Auburnleaf
-RiverClan
-reddish brown in coloration
-a very supportive, good mother
-very loving to her children and her mate
-should have good moral standards
-truly, completely in love with Ratfang
Auburnleaf looks a lot like Rowanheart… or is it that Rowanheart looks a lot like her mother? The mother, though, is a social butterfly, in contrast to her daughter. She likes to make friends and help others, and can’t really understand Rowanheart. Still, she’s a supportive mother, and wants her children to do well wherever they go in life. She was the disciplinarian when the kits were younger, and still sometimes tries to baby Rowanheart and Twigtail. Outside of that, she likes to tell jokes and go hunting in big groups. She can’t imagine being with another cat than Ratfang, though they do argue about conflicting views. Auburnleaf is very strict about the warrior code, and has great moral standards besides.
.x. The Affectionate Father, Ratfang
-RiverClan
-an affectionate, playful, good father
-very loving to his children and his mate
-truly, completely in love with Auburnleaf
Ratfang looks like a Somali, though he obviously isn’t a purebred of any variety. As a compliment to his mate, Ratfang tends to blur his morals and toes the line that sets apart rule-following from rule-breaking quite often. Naturally, he doesn’t want his children to also do so, despite the fact that Twigtail does. Ratfang is highly opinionated and somewhat philosophical, and his rebelliousness tends to manifest itself in thought rather than action. This tom is a very intelligent, crafty cat. Still, he loves to play around like a kit, and is highly affectionate to his mate and kits. He loves Auburnleaf thoroughly.
.x. The Rebellious Brother, Twigtail
-RiverClan, same age as Rowanheart
-very friendly, outgoing, and enthusiastic
-adventurous and a bit of a troublemaker
-used to have "adventures" as a kit and apprentice
-good friends with Rowanheart
Just as Rowanheart looks like her mother, Twigtail looks a lot like his father. He has a tendency to break the rules and clown around. He’s very social and nice to other cats, which has led to some popularity. This popularity seems to only increase with his occasional troublemaking. He is mischievous and clever enough that he usually gets away with his pranks. He likes to explore and run around, a trait he has kept from kithood. In fact, in kithood, he tried to swim down the river before he was ready, tried to go patrolling, almost went clear into WindClan territory… The stories of his youth are hard to keep track of, and they tend to get more elaborate every time he relates them to another cat. He is easily excited. Furthermore, he’s a bit of a ladies’ man and a complete flirt. He’s a fun guy who is actually very good friends with his less-fun sister.

Charredback’s Family
Charredback’s isn’t the epitome of the perfect family. On the contrary, it’s far from it. The father, Dogtooth, left ShadowClan while all his children were still apprentices, leaving the mother depressed and the children affected in all sorts of different ways. This family is just begging for lots of conflict!
.x. The Depressed Mother, Softcloud
-ShadowClan
-holds a lot of secret affection for kits and mate (doesn't show this)
-likes gossip
-went into depression after Dogtooth left ShadowClan
-scar on her chest from fight with Dogtooth
Softcloud is a lean, long-haired tabby she-cat with an unusually soft coat. She’s a very needy cat, especially since she feels she did not get satisfactory attention while she was a kit. That’s why she reaches out to other cats very often, but she doesn’t really know how to show it. She finds kits immature, and her own children a mystery, since she wasn’t very close to them when they were younger. By the time they were old enough that she could appreciate each other, she was wrapped up in her own problems with Dogtooth and never established a very firm relationship with any of them, though she gave some rather feeble attempts. The thing was, when she chose Dogtooth as her mate, she was looking for somebody to dote on her like nobody ever had. When Dogtooth just wasn’t affectionate enough, she started to treat him unkindly, though she legitimately was attached to him. She finally insulted him, saying he was a terrible father, a coward, and a whole bunch of other things, when he asked her to leave the Clan with him. He lost his temper and scratched her across the chest, and it wasn’t long after that he left the Clan. Softcloud felt abandoned and guilty, which resulted in her depression.
.x. The Uncaring Father, Dogtooth
-either a rogue, loner, or kittypet
-was affectionate to kits but didn't care too much about them
-didn't care too much for Softcloud, either
-prone to arguments and violence
-left ShadowClan shortly after a violent argument with Softcloud
Dogtooth is a huge, wild-looking, long-haired black-and-white tom, with sort of crazy-looking eyes. Of course, he’s not all that crazy or wild, but he sure looks like it. Though he was born in ShadowClan, he never felt he was really a part of it. His parents died when he was young, which resulted him being a very distant cat. For whatever reason, he could never get himself to feel a real deep, emotional connection to anyone else, though he tried very hard with Softcloud and his kits. Finally, he thought that perhaps if he left the Clan, he would be a better cat, and invited his mate to come with him. She insulted him then, and Dogtooth, who is a proud cat, lost his temper and attacked. He tried to make amends, but he never was very good at communicating and that sort of thing. Soon, he left ShadowClan, figuring his kits felt the same way about him as their mother. He actually feels a lot more at ease as a loner.
.x. The Second-born Sister, Needlefur
-ShadowClan, same age as Charredback
-must have had some reaction to Dogtooth's abandonment
Needlefur is a lean, long-haired tabby she-cat with pine-green eyes. She was always an aloof cat, preferring her own company to that of any other cat. Still, she got very attached to her various family members. When her father left the Clan, she withdrew even further. She never let on that she was just as depressed as her mother, but adopted a stony, uncaring expression to eternally cover her face. She tries very hard to feel nothing at all and to never make the mistake of becoming attached. Since she behaves much the same as she did when she was a kit, nobody realizes just how much she is hurting.
Taken by LENTIC.
.x. The Third-born Sister, Pineheart
-ShadowClan, same age as Charredback
-must have had some reaction to Dogtooth's abandonment
Pineheart is a big, fluffy tabby she-cat who is remarkably cute, despite her size, with big green eyes. She was always the most emotional of her siblings, but when she was a kit, that emotion was happiness and excitement. She was enthusiastic, if a bit clumsy and ditzy. It was easy to make her happy. Still, she was a pretty shallow cat, as most young cats tend to be. When Dogtooth left ShadowClan, that shallow happiness crumbled, leaving Pineheart desperate and clingy. She is very easily hurt, and tends to get sad very easily, though she tries to be happy still. She has nightmares often, and wishes Dogtooth would come back to ShadowClan. She thinks maybe then her fragile family will be normal again.
.x. The Last-born Brother, Nightbreeze
-ShadowClan, same age as Charredback
-must have had some reaction to Dogtooth's abandonment
Nightbreeze is a long-haired black tom who, as the youngest and smallest of the litter, has some insecurities about himself. The way he combats his insecurity is by being extremely aggressive; you might say he has a Napoleon complex. He is loud and opinionated, though his opinions aren't always so educated. It's more important for him to have a cause than to have a good one. One of the causes he's adopted is revenging himself and his family on Dogtooth; he took the abandonment very personally, as he takes most things personally. He's violent and does not have many limits, since he's forced himself to go past limits, and would not hesitate to kill his own father in a battle if it meant he could further himself. He's like a crazier, more intense version of Charredback.
