The Cat's Meow![/size]
Name ;; Mottledleaf
Gender ;; She-Cat
Age ;; 24 moons
Clan ;; WindClan
Rank ;; Warrior
Picture ;;
Appearance ;;
Since WindClan cats tend to run small, Mottledleaf is the perfect size for her Clan. She is petite, but only by general standards; she is average by her Clan’s standards. Her body is lithe, supple, with slim legs that are not lacking in muscle and a medium-length tail. Altogether, her build is exceptionally pretty, and coupled with an attractive face, Mottledleaf makes for a beautiful cat. The face is faintly heart-shaped, with a well-formed, medium-sized muzzle with short whiskers and a vibrantly pink nose. Large, deep green eyes are tilted at the perfect angle for maximum cuteness. Large ears, rounded triangles in form, do not detract from her beauty, but rather add to it. The fur which gives Mottledleaf her name is short and usually kept scrupulously clean. It is calico tabby in pattern, with white being a backdrop for black splotches and orange tabby patches. These darker patches congregate in the greatest numbers along her flanks, haunches, and on the top of her head. The right half of the she-cat’s head is black, with the left being ginger. Also, there is a thick black patch along the top of her left foreleg, and an orange speckle on the front of her right foreleg. The she-cat’s tail is snowy white.
Personality ;;
Have you ever been asked to describe yourself or someone else in a single word, and found yourself at a loss? Well, if you have the option, choose Mottledleaf to describe with that single allotted word, for there is one word that fits her with striking aptness: heartbreaker.
That’s right! This cute little calico is quite possibly the most infamous heartbreaker ever to stroll the WindClan moor. She gathers the hearts of tomcats as if they were collectable buttons, and wears them pinned to the front of her vest until she gets bored of them and she shoves them in a little box she keeps at the back of her mind. Hearts and affections are like trophies to this she-cat, ones that she feels she earns through hard work. She is fascinated by toms, even though she understands them fairly well by now. She finds it quite amusing to wield the power of allure and femininity over them. Yes, she does find them quite attractive, and has lots of fun with them, but she finds it hard to think of them as more than just outlets for what is practically a need to flirt. Undoubtedly driven by hormonal impulses, Mottledleaf finds she can’t resist toms, at least until they try setting up a deeper relationship.
The thing is, Mottledleaf can’t commit to toms. She has enough trouble committing to she-cats, and that’s the gender she was born into! Still, steady relationships are more readily established between the calico and other she-cats than between her and males. The real root of the problem is that the she-cat has never had any relationship stability in her life, and secretly fears commitment will only lead to chaos in her life. She has very good control of herself and relies on herself like she relies on no other cat; she is independent. Cynicism is her response to deep, emotional relationships. Trust in others is not easily earned, though affectionate actions are often given, almost free. The tortoiseshell warrior is friendly enough, but don’t ask for anything other than a casual friendship with her. She takes care of herself, and will not take care of you, and she expects you to treat her the same.
It might be startling after that last paragraph to discover that Mottledleaf is laid-back, a breezy cat. It’s easy to imagine someone so independent and untrustworthy to be stoic and lonesome, neither of which can be said of this warrior. This she-cat is quite ready to laugh, and is more likely to take gossip seriously than silly things like war and famine. Don’t confuse her with the happy-go-lucky type, though, because she does work in her own (occasionally convoluted) ways to make what she wants to happen happen. Furthermore, Mottledleaf is a friendly cat who likes a lot of company. She is quite emotional and a tad bit of a drama queen, and quite a bit self-centered, but knows how to read other cats. She is concerned with reputation and eager to uphold it. Seeing as that reputation is that of a heartbreaker, she is keener than ever to not disappoint expectations.
History ;;
Love is a blessing, some say, but others believe it is a curse. Perhaps it is one for some, and the other for the rest. Brighteyes and Brittleclaw were desperately in love, and though they never called it a curse, others have called that mad passion they had for each other the greatest curse that could be set upon them. The two young cats became mates, and almost at the end of Brighteyes’s pregnancy, the rising warrior who was her mate went into battle and was killed. They say it was her love for him that defeated Brighteyes in the end, though science would say the kitting weakened her. Still, the young she-cat had given up the will to live, and died not long after her litter was born. One of the kits followed her mother. The elders swore it was love. Mottledleaf has always looked on that story with skepticism, because even if they were so desperately in love, it seems a waste to die for it.
Mottledkit and Sleekkit were the survivors, two sisters flung into the world without parents. They were passed around the nursery, for surrogate mother to surrogate mother, never having anyone to cling to with any regularity but each other. The sisters were close, but Mottledkit was more independent, and often wandered off or got into trouble. After all, she had no real mother to scold her, and the scoldings from the other queens did not matter half as much as they should have. Mottledkit only ever really cared about Sleekkit, and when they became apprentices, it didn’t seem like anything would change that.
Of course, as things would go, something did change it. As soon as hormones started to kick in, Mottledpaw found a passion, something that she cared about: toms. Not specific toms, naturally, just the idea of toms in general. They became her fascination, and she discovered it was fun to taunt and tease them. She discovered the game of flirtation. Sleekpaw thought it was awful how her sister led the poor toms on. Sleekpaw had the ideals of the romantic, and swore that if she ever found a tom, she would be loyal and true to him. She liked the idea of true love. Mottledpaw, obviously, did not buy into that idea. This led to many arguments, and the sisters grew apart. Mottledpaw got “good enough” at her warrior skills, though they weren’t half as interesting as her other pursuits, while Sleekpaw excelled and became a warrior before her. Secretly, Mottledpaw was jealous of Sleekpaw’s talent and beauty, but she didn’t have the communication skills with toms and didn’t flirt with half as many, which was a comfort to the calico.
Mottledpaw got her warrior name later than Sleekfur, but she was christened Mottledleaf all the same. She’s already managed to have several almost-lovers, but she’s never had a stable relationship. Besides, she suspects such a thing would be boring, and she has quite a lot of fun with her little relationship games.
