Lately the sun is castin' shadow over me So come on and take me by the hand, Lead me through the trouble waters of the sea So maybe you got a halo over your head all the time As for me, all I need is this rhythm for movin' Cause you know, I keep kickin' it live, yea
Tail flicked back and forth as a gentle calming breeze whispered through cracks between rocks and trees and leaves. Piles of hardened crystal still laid in tender arms of frozen ground, though these white piles were dissipating as the sun stretched its motherly embrace over the lands of the clans. But old man winter still wanted part of these lands and the mother was kind enough to dim herself down with a blanket of clouds every now and then. The air would grow chilly and sometimes feel as if the world was as it had been not long ago. But the ground was saying otherwise as her claws needed into the wet leaves that had been uncovered.
Can I get a witness? To defend my case No I won't get caught up,i n the corporate rat race Well all I got's this commitment, and behind it I'll stand tall If flat shadows get me down I'ma roll if I fall
Loneliness plagued her heart, covered it in a sticky mess of black tar that could not be rubbed away. Yet with the sun melting the snow her heart seemed to warm and grow back to the color a beating organ should be. Lenticstar would feel this way for quite some time between the transition of the seasons. If the weather was allowed to take on a mood swing then why wasn't she? Picking her delicate framed body up off her hind pistons she placed one foot in front of the other making her way towards the rocks she could see in the distance. Her paws dropped in a synchronized fashion as most others did. She moved flawlessly like the water of her territory. She was quite beautiful though she would never admit it. It was not something she needed to be worried about. The clan was before that and toms were not to be fancied in any other way. Though perhaps in some off world she'd be swept off her paws and carried to the land of love, in some world that didn't exist.
So step back for a moment To analyze all that you've achieved And tell me was it what you wanted? Did it make you happy? Or had you been deceived?
But these thoughts would fly away as if they were a flighty bird scared by the cracking of a twig from some unknown animal. It wasn't long till she could sink into the world of rainbow colors and happiness. Placing a paw upon the stone in front of her Lenticstar pulled herself on the stone. Her fur was warmed by the stone as the sun had been shining on it. Not many cats would be out now and if there were a few cats out it would be Rowanheart and Dawnpaw, if any. Her blue eyes wandered before letting the shades be pulled closed. Ears were alert, still taking in the sounds of the forest.
And if you have still yet to understand this theme Well plain and simple Don't live somebody else's dream Don't you know the sea will surely come again And the stars will fill the sky Well it's a simple inspiration But it always blows my mind, yea

Jaggedpaw:
His body convulsed in a shiver as a chilly breeze blew though his mangy fur. Dull eyes scanned the river searching. Jaggedpaw was debating weather to go in the water and swim to the other side were sunning rocks lay or to merely sit on the shore and hunt. The only reason he was even out was to get in some extra practice. Large paws kneaded the soft dirt of the river bank. So badly did he want to be a good warrior. To prove he was more than his name said. A scruffy apprentice who barely escaped death.
Ears swiveled toward the sound of leaves rustling. Scanning the area he saw nothing. Opening his mouth he tasted the air. In a rush the scents of the river, mud and fresh air filled his nose and mouth. Screwing up his eyes he struggled to distinguish the scents, desperate to find something. In spite of his scenting he herd the prey rather than smelled it.
There was a splash of water that drew the young tom's attention. Creeping forward he spotted a duck that had landed in the river. Black and white ears flickered unsure of what to do. He had never hunted duck before. For StarClan's sake it was almost as big as he was. Then again it would feed the clan well. But did duck even taste good? Jaggedpaw need to think fast seeing as the duck had begun to swim to the other side.
As quietly as possible he slipped into the water making careful strokes in the water to keep silent. The scruffy apprentice's head was barely above the water as he followed the bird to the other side to sunning rocks. When the water was shallow enough he made sure to tread even more cautiously. Focused on the unaware duck he unsheathed his claws. Heartbeats away the brown feathered creature spotted him. Powerful strokes of it's wings splashed water into the air but the duck was too slow. Jaggedpaw had leaped into the air the moment the duck saw him, claws out stretched and sinking into the duck's back. Both fell into the river as gravity pulled them downward.
Drenched Jaggedpaw heaved his catch to the shore, shivering all the while. The river was indeed very chilly. The small tom was proud of his catch but also nervous. Very rarely was there anything other than fish in the fresh-kill pile would they find this bird to odd to eat? Jaggedpaw considered trying it to make sure but was stopped by the warrior code. He guessed that it would be someone else's job to see if it was tasty. For now however he would dry himself off and try to regain some of his warmth.
